The Zenith range from Vango is like the Swiss Army Knife of sleeping bags. The 300 model boasts a solid 3 season performance and includes technical features to keep you warm such as the thermal embrace and new Insulite Z filling.
The Zenith range is ideal for trekkers and travellers who want a compact bag but not one that sacrifices warmth and comfort to shrink the pack size. Featuring pretty much all of Vango’s technical and useful features rolled into a single bag. The diagonal zipper also adds a unique style to the range so ideal for campers who want something that stands out from the crowd.
Vango Shield Protection
The Zenith 300’s outer and inner shell has been treated with Vango’s shield treatment that protects you from insects, mould and bacteria that cause bad smells. So an ideal bag for avoiding mosquitoes on a backpacking trip but also trekkers and walkers on multi day hikes that want a bag that can be packed away without the requirement to air after each night.
Integrated Mosquito Nets
The hood of the sleeping bag contains a zippered mosquito net which covers the face section. Of course you can zip it over your face whilst you are sleeping but it’s also great to leave zipped up while you are out and about so bugs can’t creep into your bag. It can also be completely zipped out and removed if not required and includes a handy insulated baffle which sits over the half zipper that is left in the hood. There is also a fixed mosquito net in the base which protects your feet in case you need to open the base zipper to let additional ventilation into the bag. When opening the bag fully this net can be zipped open to allow the Zenith 200 to be used as a blanket.
Recycled Ultralite Polyester Materials
This bag uses Vango’s new Polair® Z fabric which is recycled polyester and is designed to be ultralite with it’s 50D 300T construction. The diamond ripstop weave on the outer shell adds durability to the bag without adding much additional weight. The Insulite Helix Fill is also made from recycled materials giving this bag great eco-credentials.
How it Keeps You Warm
Thermal Embrace – The zenith range include Vango’s thermal embrace system which is included on other technical bags in their range including the Microlite 300. By stitching elasticated fibre into the internal section at the top of the bag it gently embraces the user reducing any air gaps. This greatly increases the thermal efficiency of the bag and reduces any cold spots that can develop.
Shoulder & Zip Baffles – A well insulated and adjustable shoulder baffle is included to stop airflow through the top of the bag and a zip baffle stops draughts from passing through the zipper. A fully adjustable 3D hood has two different thicknesses of cord so you can easily adjust around your head even in the dark.
Insulite Helix Eco Fill – combines recycled traditional single hole hollowfibre with multi-channel hollowfibre to create a bag that feels padded but also has a high loft ability. The multi-channel fibres also help draw moisture away from the body and out of the bag.
Other Key Features
Diagonal Full Length 2 Way Zipper – the unique and stylish diagonal zipper stretches all the way around the bag meaning you can use the Zenith as a blanket in warmer climates.
Internal Pocket – ideal for storing your valuables, car keys or a small torch for night time emergencies
Reversible Fleece Lined Stuffsack – the inside of the compression sack is lined with fleece so you can turn inside out, stuff with a jumper and use as a no fuss pillow.
Box Foot Base – the box shaped end of the sleeping bag allows you to place your feet in a natural sleeping position without creating dead air space in the bag
